  14. I just found this newsgroup, and what timing!
  15.     At work the policy is to allow software such as Kermit to come in
  16. only through commercial (purchased) sources.  In the past, Kermit was
  17. available from Columbia on tapes and such.  I need a copy of Kermit
  18. for Solaris on either cdrom or Exabyte tape.  We have a special hookup
  19. using a Sparc-5 as a console for a Sparc 2000E via the serial ports.
  20. Currently, a script called 'gocon' uses 'cu' as a terminal driver, but
  21. I would like to replace that with Kermit.  Sources?

  23.     Personally, I have another problem.  I really did rtfm, but in spite
  24. of very many years with kermit, I have been unable to get kerm314 to
  25. work with Trumpet winsock.  Now it becomes important, because I need
  26. ppp connections for dialin access to work.  Other win3 terminals
  27. are too awkward to be practical.  Please give explicit, step-by-step
  28. instructions.
  29.     I really wish all the people out there (obviously not on this
  30. newsgroup) had a clue that kermit the program is not the same as
  31. kermit the protocol; in a related topic, I wish those programs that
  32. claim to do kermit transfers would do a proper job of it.  Kermit
  33. gets a bad rap because of ignorant users and sloppy programmers who
  34. only impliment a subset of the protocol.   Sigh.  Maybe in the
  35. next life...
